Brit and K-Fed Met With Dr. Phil

We don't know if this is good news or not but there are reports that fading pop star Britney Spears and her background dancer hubby Kevin Federline, had a sit down with Dr. Phil at a suite in the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Dr. Phil couldn't treat the trashy duo himself because he's too busy (or maybe he can't stand the smell of cheetos and beer) so he referred them to an LA-based counselor.

Sean Preston's parents have met with the counselor several times -- reports "their relationship is better. They know they need to work on things. "Britney needs to be patient and not fly off the handle and allow for `cool off' time," said the spy. "Kevin needs to listen better and not run of to Vegas every time they have a fight."

Despite this, we know taking the time to sort out problems in a hotel room has never really worked in the past.
