Just in time for Mardi Gras Hotel Maison de Ville is one of the first post-Katrina hotels to open in New Orleans's French Quarter.

The hotel opened over the weekend after months of reconstruction which involved removing the furniture, artwork and knick-knacks within the hotel out and then back in place when the work was done.

Guestrooms were also "enhanced" with new beds and decor. But despite rooms being booked as far out as December 2006, there is still additional repair work required on the Audubon Cottages, which are detached from the hotel's main building. These are expected to be back in service on April 1.
