An Okay Stay in L.A.

The FlyerTalk Blog, View from the Wing, recently spent a night in Los Angeles at the W Westwood. Their review gave the hotel an okay rating mainly because the W did not offer turndown service, messed up a food order, didn't offer Wi-Fi and has slow elevators.

Also, there was some issues about staff:

The front desk always had a line, there's not enough staff (and occasionally staff milling about around the desk but not helping guests).

We just chalk that up to being the Angeleno way. No one really "works" here.

However, the hotel did understand the importance of coffee at 5 a.m. and delivered the pot promptly with cream and soy milk, just like the guest requested.

Sadly, the guest had to suffer through the cold snap that's taken over the city which made the rather fun pool area looking forlorn and abandoned.

    Slow elevators

I second the comment about the slow elevators...I stayed at the W Westwood over New Years and spent an interminable about of time waiting for the elevators to arrive at the 15th floor.
