What's Your Pleasure?
Last week we had breaking news about Booty Parlor's sex toys making a trial-run in the Mondrian Hotel's mini bars and gift shop, Pleasure.
But this store is not just about sex toys. Sure, there's a lot of sexy items on their shelves--like the box of chocolate lick-off tattoos, the feathery riding whip thingies, and the books about sexy subjects. Yet the store also carries the little trendy boutique items everyone loves but that no one really needs.
Such as fashion laptop cases, dog and cat toys, sweater, t-shirts (not the I Love LA kind either), jewelry and handbags.
The store does have your basic toiletries and sundries but you have to ask for them and they are in a cabinet behind the counter. Which is funny because don't they usually hide the sexy things behind the counter?

HotelChatter also learned that Pleasure operated under a different name and company before the Mondrian took it over in October 2004, which actually makes it the first Morgans Hotel Group gift shop. The store is still in a trial phase, but according to store assistant, sales have tripled.
The biggest selling item? Sunglasses of course. Starting at $300 a set, the hotel has only designer brands some of which go for $1,000.
We certainly do not recommend that since there's probably a Sunglass Hut down the street but if you are in a tight bind for a gift or want something to make you smile, Pleasure is right there, without the hassle of navigating Sunset Boulevard.
