Vamos a La Playa: Cancun Comeback

We would normally add Cancun to our list of Mexican beach resorts but due to Hurricane Wilma, most of Cancun is attempting to rebuild. Only about a third of the more than 50 major hotels are running, but the rests are anticipating reopening again by this summer.

So while construction goes on to build a better, more adult and less Spring Break-ish Cancun, an alternative right now is Riviera Maya, just on the bordering edge of Cancun. This area was spared Wilma's wrath and with 65 hotels, tourists are hitting it up in place of Cancun.
