Those crazy neighbors of ours. Canada prounces the phrase boutique hotel as "hotel boutique."

And in the ski resort town of Whistler, The Adara Hotel Boutique has opened up.

The Canadian paper, The Globe and Mail, has gone into the hotel which opened late last month and this is what they found:

·In the lobby: Bright red doors, a stone fireplace, a funky, bird-cage chair, two curvy banquettes, resin antlers on the wall of mirrors, and a bar without a liquor license. At least for now.

· Rooms:There are 41 rooms total ranging from queen studio to a two-bedroom loft suite with private terraces facing the mountains. Faux-mink wraps are tossed on the bed and fireplaces built into custom-designed cabinets.

· Amenities: high-speed Internet access, an iHome Clock Radio and stereo with an iPod docking station and a fully stocked bar fridge with San Pellegrino.

Another random fact: Sir Paul McCartney and Teri Hatcher got gift certificates to the hotel as part of the swag bag for this year's Grammy Awards.

However, despite the buzz of this place, there is still no spa, fitness cetner, bar, self-contained restaurant and the pool is yet to be opened. With prices as high as a Four Seasons resort, it may not be the most economical of choices.
