Construction on Orlando's tallest high-rise hotel, The Blue Rose, will start in November and developers expect it to be the Vegas of the East Coast. Well, the East Coast of Florida. Or maybe just a Vegas-like alternative in the Mickey Kingdom of Orlando.

Sitting on 13-acres, there will be 1,300 units (some condos), 75,000 square feet of meeting space and a 1,000-seat Broadway-style theater. Outside the hotel will be Swan Lake, where 50 swans and dozens of flamingos wil take up residence alongside retail stores and restaurants.

The rooms will be filled with luxe items like a $1,500 executive leather chair, a 50-inch plasma screen television, and Jacuzzi whirlpools.

The hotel is expected to be completed by August 2008 and will open in various phrases from then until January 2009.

And the best part? No sign on that darn mouse anywhere.
