JDV's Nob Hill Hotel Going Condo?

Hotels that offer condo units are all the rage in the hotel world today but we learn from blogger Stray Packets that the JDV Hospitality hotel, Nob Hill Lambourne is going strictly condo.

I just got email from a hotel I've stayed at a few times in San Francisco that it's going to be converted into residential condos.

It's a really small place. Less than a dozen rooms, I think. I always wondered if they could make a profit. Still, they're gonna need to knock out some walls to open up some condo-sized living space, even by SF standards.

Actually, there's just 20 rooms but it's still pretty small. And another guest also commented on the condo speculation on TripAdvisor.

Desk clerk at checkout said the hotel would go condo 1st of the year. I hope not.

We're guessing Chip Conley is not getting into the residential real estate biz and will be unloading this property from his portfolio. Hey, he's gotta make room for the Sacramento and Redondo Beach hotels somehow.
