HotelChatter's Rocking New Year's Eve: Times Square
It's that time of the year again--hunting for a hotel room for New Year's Eve. We'll be bringing you some of the latest on New Year's Eve hotels this week so send us your questions or suggestions if you got 'em.

Everyone will be looking at Times Square on Dec. 31 waiting for the ball to drop and if you wanna book a hotel room, there are, surprisingly, some still open in this area. (We guess not everyone is thrilled with the idea of staying in a hotel that will have thousands of people jammed outside in front and full of roadblock horror.)
W Hotels is offering their "Who Knows How To Kick Off the New Year" package at all W Hotels which includes Limited Edition 2007 W Hotels/ Patrick McMullan Calendar, a bottle of Bubbly, a W Camera, "perfect for partygoers and budding Patrick McMullans alike", all for a room rate starting at $359.
Naturally the W Times Square is booked but the Westin Times Square (also a Starwood Hotel) still has rooms open as does the W Union Square which is having a five hour premium open bar from 9pm to 2am in the Underbar.
Of course, if you have your heart set on staying at the W Times Square, try booking a room for January or 2 as the package is good until February 4. But then that defeats the whole New Year's Eve hotel purpose, doesn't it?
Also in the Times Square area with rooms available are Night ($469), CityClub ($415 for a petite i.e. really tiny room) and according to Hotels.com, the Royalton for $359, Bryant Park Hotel for $395 and the Borat fave, the Wellington Hotel for $315.
With prices like these, just be thankful New Year's is only for one night.
