Besides the last time I stayed there, I walked to Pastis and saw both Andrew McCarthy and Laura Dern. That's the beauty of the place, situated in Abingon Square on 8th avenue and West 12th Street, you get to bask in the fading Meatpacking Hollywood glamor, without paying the steep boutique prices. Walk two blocks east and you are standing in line at the Magnolia bakery for your cupcake.
Keep going and you are at Cafe Angelique which was recently featured in Prime (did you see it?). The rooms are not exactly stylish but certainly comfy. Did I mention that there is no breakfast, but there is a grand piano. You can walk across the street and get a delicious low-carb or not breakfast at the Bus Stop Cafe. On Saturday, there is even a farmer's market across the street so if you actually cook in your kitchenette you can shop.
