Hotel Spas: Park Hyatt Beaver Creek
Whether your on vacation or even staying over on a business trip, you deserve to treat yourself at the hotel spa. And with hotel spas fast becoming the all-important amenity (after a hip bar and a restaurant helmed by the celebrity chef du jour), we'll be checking out some innovative hotel spa treatments across the U.S. If you'd like to share your spa story, send us an email letting us know where your most favorite treatment was. But of course, please spare us any hotel happy ending bandit stories.

The Allegria Spa at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek is currently undergoing a $12 million renovation that should be completed just before the winter ski season begins.
When completed the spa will double its size and add on a "Aqua Sanitas" water sanctuary.
The main attraction in the new Allegria spa will be the "Aqua Sanitas," translated as "healing waters." A water sanctuary inspired by ancient customs and modern design, this space will contain three new custom thermal pools separated for men, women and couples. The co-ed thermal pool will contain mineral salts and is an internal re-creation of the natural hot springs of Colorado.
But this isn't just a place to soak in a tub of mineral waters. The treatment is referred to as a "self-guided journey" with four separate parts: a shower with an herbal body wash; relaxation time in a co-ed thermae ("reminiscent of an ancient Roman bathhouse"), then you sit in the caldarium pool where things start to get a little crazy:
Alternating temperatures, hot and cold, induce a natural healing response, ushering the body closer to complete wellness. Entering the caldarium, the experience of heat, steam and light promote a feeling of total immersion.
Lastly, you recover from all this in heated lounger in a warming sanctuary. To us, all of this sounds surprising similar to the sweat lodge Locke built for himself on "Lost" when he needed guidance on whether he should save Eko's life or not. Except for the happy hotel spa-goers and the natural springs part.
The hotel spa also plans on introducing more Native American-inspired treatments when it officially re-opens next month. In the meantime, the spa will still be operating at full-service, just in suites on the hotel's second floor.
