[Ed. Note: Hotel Maven Alex Salkever checks-in from Hawaiiarama again. This time he's going crazy for the Princeville Resort's infinity pool.]

Infinity pools are wonderful things. Sipping a drink, peering over the edge of the pool and blending into the trackless ocean or the topless sky are sublime sensations available at many fine resorts. But the Princeville Hotel and Resort, on the North Shore of Kauai, may have all the other infinity pools topped. Set at sea level, this pool looks out directly into the middle section of one of the best surfing waves in the world, the righthand freight train that slams though Hanalei Bay on big swells.

If its really big -- and it can get over 30 feet from trought to crest -- you might have trouble spotting the surfers but you'll take in an equally epic view of massive surf seen almost as a surfer would see it paddling out. Of course, you have to stay at this pricey resort to partake. Such are the costs of outrageous infinity pools.
