The Bedbug Registry is Now Taking Your Suggestions

November 21, 2006 at 4:35 PM | by juliana | 0 Comments

We are almost approaching the one-year mark of the resurgence of Bed Bugs and we've been alerted to a site called Bed Bug Registry, which is devoted solely to keeping track of known places infested with bed bugs. This includes both apartments and hotels.

The way it works is you simply type in a hotel or apartment building address and see if the place has bed bugs. Or you can search by state. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, New York has 52 instances, almost all of them in NYC.

This place should be a pretty helpful one-stop site for bed bug info and reports, although it's pretty new and not all the features (like Maps and Worst reports) are ready.

However, hotel operators should be on alert. This site is much like TripAdvisor where anyone can post anything so long as they have a valid email address. Here's the site's disclaimer:

We make no guarantees about the accuracy of the information here. Please read the postings, consult the photos, and use your own judgment.

As always, if you have a hotel story about bed bugs and the staff's reaction, whether good or bad (although we hope it's good), you can still send us your accounts since we still have this perverted part of us that likes to read them.
