Westin Rolls Out Travelers' Renewal Program for Biz Travelers

Although Marriott is still #1 for business travelers, Westin Hotels are working hard to compete.
Today the company announced their Travelers' Renewal Program for weary and lonely business travelers. After partnering with Prevention magazine on an in-depth biz travel study, Westin was able to pull together a sort of mini-snapshot of travelers' health while on the road.
Some not-so-surprising discoveries?
· Loneliness is a common emotional response to traveling.
· Nearly one in four frequent business travelers experiences physical stress while flying.
· Over three-fourths of respondents feel that their lives rest in the hands of others when traveling.
And a surprising discovery?
· 42% of frequent travelers feel closer to God while traveling, because they are above the clouds.
Now armed with these research results, Westin's new Travelers' Renewal Program will combat the stress of flying and being on the road with the Renewal Menu, Station and Kit. On the menu are natural remedies like green tea, aloe and pineapple sorbet to sooth sore throats and hot chicken soup for upset stomachs. Hand purifiers and fruit will be provided in the lobby. Travelers' Renewal Stations will provide fruit, hand purifier and water in Westin's lobbies and the kits will include things to make traveling easier like more hand purifier and "mind-sharpening" Sudoku games.
Westin also has plans to unveil, Unwind, an evening event where guests (not just business travelers) can socialize with others about their destinations and travels.
The Unwind ritual is designed to minimize loneliness and emotional discomfort for guests while they are away from home. Local flavor and interactive activities will be key parts of the Unwind experience, from indulging in oysters and champagne at the Westin Dragonara Resort in Malta to teaching guests how to pour the perfect pint of Guinness at the Westin Dublin.
Our suggestion to make traveling easier? Free and reliable WiFi in the rooms. We're just saying....
