aloft hotel Planned for Brooklyn in 2008

Brooklyn isn't stopping with the Holiday Inn Park Slope. Nope, now the annoyingly lower-cased new hotel chain from Starwood, aloft hotels is set to open in downtown Brooklyn in 2008.
The full-service hotel will be paired with a newly built Sheraton Hotel and the two will have 500 rooms, meeting space, and a host of upscale amenities.
There will also be a swimming pool and an open terrace.
Another non-Starwood hotel in the works for Brooklyn is a 93-room hotel, The Smith Hotel, that will have 50 luxury residential condominiums. This will open first in April 2007. Or so they say, you never can believe these hotel opening people. Last we checked in on aloft's first property, expected open in Lenox, MA in 2007, insiders said it may open now in 2008 or 2009.
We say send the aloft airstream back out on tour so people don't forget what this place is all about.
