Can You Qualify as a "Chief Beer Officer"?
Four Points by Sheraton is looking for a few good beer fanatics. "No lager louts need apply."
The other day as we're flipping through pages in the Wall Street Journal, a strange executive opening ad catches our eye. It says Four Points by Sheraton is looking for a Chief Beer Officer. There's even a web site with an online application.
It all has an air of mystery about it, but it appears the job involves drinking plenty of beer--the ideal occupation for many a barstool daydreamer. Four Points has been busy stocking its bars with quality beer offerings and the job entails being the Best Brews "official beer ambassador at select microbrewery tours and national beer festivals, and on barstools across the country." Alas, it's only a part-time position, so don't go giving up the day job yet. Something tells us the pay for this won't be anywhere close to what the other c-level Starwood execs are paid: $3.25 million per year for CEO Steven J. Heyer and close to $2 million for CFO Vasant M. Prabhu.
Looks like you'll need to be able to write in complete sentences as well; you need "a willingness to introduce these fine brews to the public through monthly blog reviews."
