More Nicky O Hotel Woes for Nicky Hilton

November 15, 2006 at 4:06 PM | by juliana | 0 Comments

We love TMZ for their dogged investigative reporting on celebs, but not so much for the creepy paparazzi voices on their films of celebrities shopping or eating dinner.

But today, we love TMZ again for their report on Nicky Hilton's latest Nicky O Hotels fiasco. Only this time, Nicky's turning the tables on someone else.

According to the suit, Nicky hooked up with a guy named Eneliko Smith, aka the Defendant, "who held himself out as an experienced operator and marketer of boutique hotels." Apparently Hilton was horrified to learn that Smith allegedly has filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for exclusive rights to use the name Nicky O.

Hilton is asking for damages and wants a judge to issue an injunction prohibiting Smith from using the name. Smith tells TMZ he created the concept for Hilton and that she took the idea to another company, so he feels he was within his legal rights to submit an application to register the name.

Nicky, this sounds a little too familiar....At least Nizar Idrisi probably thinks so.

What do you think? Is Nicky a hotelier in her own right and thus allowed to trademark her own name? Or are her and handlers just trying to take credit for everyone else's work?
