Viva Las Vegas Hotel Map: Wynn Las Vegas
The Wynn Las Vegas is Steve Wynn's homage to himself and all that he stands for, and that is the finest of the finest. We were on hand during the hotel's opening weekend a year and a half ago, and we're still writing about Wynn.
From the purple people that man the place in their purple blazers to the luxury stores in the lobby to the slow-loading web site, we can't get enough. In fact, we think this is the hotel we've written the most stories about that we practically forget what the rooms are like. So getting back to basics, the rooms are more expensive than other Vegas hotels and if you're set on staying here, try the dead of summer where prices will drop to about $300.
As for the decor, the rooms tend to look a little bit like the places your grandparents would rent out in Florida somewhere. Hey, it's your hard-earned 300 bucks. Spend it how you please.
Gaudy Themed Attraction
The man-made waterfall and its accompanying man-made mountain. Also streetlights dressed up as huge floor lamps are a close second.
La Reve by Dragone which is like Cirque du Soleil but of course, is not.
Wynn hired some of the world's finest chefs to helm the restaurants here so you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. Just pray your wallet can afford it.
Who you are most likely to see gambling:
Older, wealthy, country-club going clientele, Rick Pitino, Herb Kohler (the toilet guy) and high rollers from Macau. Remember, people with baby strollers are not welcome in the casino.
