It's been a while since we last checked in on the world of Hotel Blogs, but that's because genuine hotel blogs are getting harder and harder to find.

Hotel people, you need to get with it. Blogging is the newest fad of 2004! Wait, it's 2006?

Anyways, hotel industry blogger Guillaume Thevenot has found a hotel blog in Zambia run by Richard Chanter, the owner/hotelier of the Chanters Lodge, a 10-room bed & breakfast.

For the most part, the blog (a Yahoo 360 page) is about the local area, travel activities, attractions, restaurants and even spotlights on other lodgings.

Of course, Richard does blog about his hotel here and there too like this post from Oct. 21:

We have a frog problem again....is it the weather? Is it the mating season? Maybe both! Anyway, these new frogs croak, and presumably therefore want to do it, in the daytime! It's one thing battling the racket when trying to take restaurant orders in the evening and another trying to do the books in the morning. Today they were making the most terrible racket.

Hopefully, they got the frog problem under control. As for the blog, it's actually a great read about Zambia and the Livingstone and Victoria Falls areas should you ever plan a trip there. It's also updated frequently. Yet we still want to see more posts about life at the Chanters Lodge, frogs or no frogs.

If you're curious about staying at the lodge, TripAdvisor reviews are stellar including this bit about Richard himself:

Spent four nights at Chanters Lodge and can truly say that the food was the best we tasted in three weeks in Zambia and excellent value! Really pretty gardens, secluded tables & chairs under thatched shelters, lovely pool. Bedrooms spacious with attractive fabrics and mosi nets provided (not that we saw any mosis......). Richard Chanter, the owner, is a great host and really helpful.
