Gramercy Park Door Minions Shut Out Invited Party Guests

Update: Our tipster just sent in a clarification:
No invited guests were turned away, everyone got in- its just that some guests had wait outside for about fifteen minutes when the place hit capacity.
Fifteen minutes doesn't seem so bad and despite our story title, it sounds like no invited guests were shut out. We have waited longer for the elevator at Mandalary Bay in Vegas. Or maybe the long arm of Schrager got to our tipster. Either way we still wish we got to see the Jack White / Rolling Stones duet up close and in person. Maybe next time.
It was only a matter of time before Ian Schrager attempted to turn his newest child, Gramercy Park Hotel into Studio 54 if only for just an evening.
An NYC hotel source tells us the hotel recently hosted a benefit for Bill Clinton on Sunday night that also doubled as a birthday party and tripled as a Rolling Stone after-concert pary. If you thought Schrager banning Paris Hilton was rough, this was only the tip of the iceberg.
His door minions even kept out invited guests to this exclusive soiree held at the Rose Bar. Guests who did make it inside were Chelsea Clinton, Jack White, the Rolling Stones, Lucy Liu, Michael Stipe (REM) Carly Simon, Courtney love, Courtney Taylor (dandy warhols) Mario Batali, and Steve Bing. Sheesh, we're surprised Schrager himself didn't stroll in on a white horse.
Our source also let us know that Jack White did a duet with the Stones and that the party raged until 4am. Which is probably about the time, Schrager's door people let inside the other invited guests.
