The May Fair London Gets a New $140 Million Look

When hotels renovate we like to be able to see the difference. Throwing $140 million dollars into the project will definitely allow this to happen.
As it were, the May Fair of London was already luxurious and glamorous with 406 rooms encompassing priceless history (it first opened in 1927.) But now with this huge chunk of cash thrown into the place, it looks better than ever. We're talking hand-made carpets, Fendi designed furniture, Europe's largest Baccarat chandelier, and the largest private theater in London.
The new look also includes the Asian-inspired spa, the Amba bar and grill and May Fair bar (which were already local faves) and a whole new new wing of 10 signature suites with private elevator entrances and terraces big enough for posh parties. The suites weren't the only room to get the attention however:
Intelligently designed, the generously sized guest rooms feature Bang and Olufsen television and digital entertainment systems, dual-line telephones, modem connections, refrigerators and complimentary bottled water.
Of course we are just as impressed with the free WiFi as we are with the free water and the fancy TVs. But we suggest getting a piece of this luxury fast. In celebration of the Nov. 2 unveiling date, weekends are 155 pounds per night and let's face it, a deal this good won't last long.
