Chicago's Park Hyatt Brings Wine to the (Young) People

The Park Hyatt in Chicago is proving that you don't have to be near Napa Valley to have an incredible wine tasting, you can do it right in the middle of Chi-town.

NoMI Cellar Notes, a new tasting program at NoMI in the Park Hyatt is putting on a tasting program led by expert sommeliers on Tuesday evenings from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays which costs between $20 and $40.

"It's meant to be set up very much like a winery," says Park Hyatt spokeswoman Karrie Leung of the low-key, open house-style Cellar Notes tasting. "Although NoMI is know for special occasion [celebrations], we've really developed an audience for fun, casual dining. The main goal is to offer something unique and fun. I think it's great to get all sorts of people in the venue."

Tastings take place on Tuesday evenings and feature a theme such as Champagnes, German wines, etc; yet they always somehow manage to pair perfectly with NoMI's Spanish tapas menu.

The unexpected factor here is the young crowd the tastings are attracting, especially since the sommeliers are still under 30.
