Mondrian's Sexy South Beach Sister Putting Rooms Up for Sale

Art schmart. Our favorite part of Art Basel are the parties, and we're not surprised Ian Schrager's former hotel company, the Morgans Hotel Group have chosen to launch sales for hotter-than-thou Mondrian South Beach when the hauter-than-thou international art fair storms the beachy bastille next month.
Inspired by its LA namesake - the star-studded spot known for housing the original Skybar -the new $150 million sexy South Beach sister will transform the center tower of what is currently known as the Mirador apartment complex (pictured above) into a condo-tel.
Located on the Beach's residential "West" end, Mondrian South Beach will offer a posh new social destination on West Avenue, a street best known for its sprawling dormitory-style rental apartment complexes.
As is the norm in the condo-tel sales, the hotel will allow VIPers to reserve the residential units first before any Joe Schmoes off the street can. And as is also the norm, all this condo-tel hype does not include an actual opening date.
Still, with a roster of celebrity friends included, it's only a matter of time before Hollywood's A-list actually own the hotel rooms they live at on South Beach. And with Ian Schrager having left Morgans, Paris Hilton still has a chance of being let in when it opens.
