Is Nicky O Just a Bunch of Nicky Hype?
We have been following Nicky Hilton's Nicky O Hotels somewhat closely. The fact that it features E! News tickers in the elevators and that she unveiled her hotel designs with pretty posterboard art has left us physically unable to write more without vomiting.
Yet we decided to suck it up and place a barf bucket next to our desk in the interest of bringing you dear readers the news and scoop you deserve.
Also our Nicky O sickness has been mildly abated by the fact that the Miami hotel may not open in time. We've been hearing "sometime later this year", "sometime in the fall", "mid-Decemeber" and even "sometime in November" as all possible opening time frames for the first hotel (the second will open in Chicago.) Yet there isn't even a Nicky O website.
Hotel Maven Lesley in Miami reports that Ms. Hilton was recently partying it up at the Sagamore Hotel but didn't seem to be all that interested in her hotel.
they CLAIM it's opening NOVEMBER but there's no way. Nicky was busy down here this past weekend partying with Scott Storch and Richie Rich of Heatherette over at The Sagamore, where she was staying. Not a word of whether or not she even did a site inspection on her own hotel when she was here.
Lesley also lets us know that the Hilton sisters' favorite Vegas club, Pure, may actually open their Miami hotspot within Nicky O. That is, if it actually opens.
While we do think the hotel will materialize someday--Nicky did announce a partnership with Brizo, a fashion faucet brand--we definitely don't think it will open before 2006 is out.
Word of advice to Nicky: If you can open your hotel before Jason Pomeranc opens any of his, then you will get not only a gold-star in our book, but also a strawberry scratch-n-sniff sticker.
