Steam Heater Explodes at SoHo Grand

Where: 310 West Broadway [map], New York, ny, United States, 10013

The New York Post reports that "Boys Don't Cry" director Kimberly Peirce was staying at the SoHo Grand Hotel "when a steam heater inexplicably 'exploded' and shot scalding water all over her suite."

Needless to say, the director then switched rooms.

This was just another incident in a string of bad luck for the director. Before checking into the hotel, she was staying at a friend's loft when a large, lighting fixture fell from the ceiling.
