Dogs are the new ski bunnies!

The New York Times explores some of the  dog-friendly bed-and-breakfasts and other ski inns on the East Coast and the West.

Paw House Inn near Killington, VT:

Dogs watch the Animal Planet cable TV channel from heated runs in an adjacent 1,200-square-foot playhouse, romp in the large backyard or run through the canine agility course.

Several other hotels in "ski country" are allowing dogs--some at no extra cost and others for fees of $35 a night.

One owner of the Inn at Quail Run in Wilmington, Vt.,estimated that  "pet guests are probably 80 percent of our business year-round."

The Topnotch Resort & Spa in Stowe, Vt. even offer dogs a massage at their spa and access to nine miles of groomed cross-country trails.

In Colorado and on the West Coast, Vail Cascade Resort & Spa, The Inn at Keystone, and the Tahoma Meadows Bed & Breakfast all accomodate pets while their owners are skiing.
