Omni Hotel is also the most popular choice with business travelers, although all three hotels are also within walking distance to the San Diego Convention Center. Yet the Omni looks more like a business traveler's hotel from its sleek design and layout and due to huge spaces available for meetings and conferences.
We pretty much guessed the Omni was a tightly-run ship but our suspicions were confirmed when we saw what the bell-hops were wearing: white naval-inspired jackets with brass buttons and white hats with a blue brim.

Things over at the Marriott looked more relaxed. In fact, the hotel's decor has a boutiquey sort of feel, like the shelving with colorful glass figurines, as if to spice things up a bit since a larger Marriott close by in the marina district. It even has a downstairs bar with a cool name Soleil@K (short for K street) and cool outdoor seating. However, at the end of the day, it's still a Marriott.
Lastly, we ventured over to the the Hilton which also has a boutique feel in the lobby, but we were more distracted by the sign that said, "Church service, here at 11 a.m." Sure enough, it was for real. The Hilton hosts Sunday church services.
The hotel also has a great location, right at the start of the Gaslamp District, and the San Diego trolley stops practically out in front. It's also across the street from the Hard Rock site, which is sure to be off the hook when it opens next year.
So you can do your sinful partying at the Hard Rock and make up for it at the Hilton church service. Sounds pretty good to us.
