Disneyland Hotels Go Smoke-Free

February 1, 2006 at 9:05 AM | 0 Comments

Get that cigar-smoking Jiminy Cricket out of the hotel!

The Disneyland Hotel and Disney's Paradise Hotel are going nonsmoking starting March 1st. So leave your hookah pipes at home.

The other hotel at the resort, Grand Californian hotel, has been a smoke-free establishment since 2001.

The Disney hotels aren't instituting the policy because of morality, public pressure, or health. It's just business--is it ever anything else when it comes to the House of the Mouse?

On an average no more than two requests per day come in for smoking rooms. The hotels will gradually take the smoking rooms out of use and begin the task of replacing drapes, rugs and doing thorough cleaning of those former smoke areas.

If you do smoke, you can do so in nearby designated smoking areas, appropriately themed, Cruella De Ville. (We kid, not all smokers look like Cruella, but about 85 percent will one day.)
