Travel + Leisure Kicks off V-Day
It is that time of year again to write about the most commercialized, not to mention the most fake of all holidays--Valentine's Day.
Because it pains us to write about this James Frey of special days, we are passing the baton to Travel + Leisure, who has cleverly written up 50 Romantic Getaways.
Some of the categories include hotels with Water Views, Off the Grid Hotels, Sexy Cities, and Suites Worth the Splurge.
Our favorite category is the Meals to Remember, which features the Hanohano Room at the Sheraton Waikiki in Honolulu.
The 30-story ride in a private glass elevator to the grand Hanohano Room at the Sheraton Waikiki is the perfect occasion to steal a kiss. Once you've arrived, settle into a table with views of Diamond Head and the Waikiki surf breaks to the east and Honolulu's city lights and the Koolau Range to the west.
An added tip from T+L suggests booking a table for 6pm on the west side as to maximize supreme sunset views.
The full list of hotels and categories can be found in the February 2006 issue, which is on stands now.
