Hotel Swag for A-Listers

We are so tired of celebrities getting freebies, like gift bags of Vespas, Motorola phones and cashmere pajamas. And that was just the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Sundance Film Festival.

With the Oscars coming up (nominations are announced this week) expect more and more swag stories to emerge, like this one.

Favored by those with a recognizable face and unlimited credit-line, the Beverly Hills Four Seasons announced that they are sending $5,000 worth of "goodies" for the female Academy nominees. Goodies like Kerstin Florian "caviar facial" products from the hotel ultra-luxury spa, and bottles of Krug champagne, worth $1,000. Why is the Four Seasons so concerned about getting chummy with the nominees?

"It's our way of thanking them," says Sarah Cairns, the hotel's director of public relations. "Most of them come here anyway. It's also about branding. Everyone is trying to be the brand that the nominees use. It's about not getting lost in the crowd."

We just find it interesting that the hotel would supply the actresses with face cream and bottles of booze. Are they trying to tell them something else? Like your face is busted and you're only fun when you're wasted.
