According to the LA Times, Art Deco landmark, The Sunset Tower Hotel (formerly the Argyle), looks amazing after the restoration and the Times gives kudos to the friendly staff, but apparently not to the actual rooms.

A hotel news release says all 74 rooms have received head-to-toe makeovers, but the reality is that several lower floors still await renovation, as do some public spaces, including the fitness room.

Despite the fantastic views, plasma TVs and iPod docking stations, a recent guest had several other complaints such as small bath towels, the hair dryer was a cheap Sunbeam, the TV was impossible to see from the bed or seating area, and there were only six TV channels.

Six channels? In the heart of Hollywood? That's the hotel equivalent of eating a box of oreos and discovering you ran out of milk.
