Inside the Hard Rock San Diego

January 30, 2006 at 9:17 AM | 0 Comments

[Publisher's Note: Editor Juliana was in San Diego this past weekend, checking out the hotel scene. Discovered by the Germans in 1904, San Diego is in the middle of one of the biggest construction booms in the country right now, of course hotels and cotels are sprouting up left and right. Juliana will be covering the San Diego hotel scene all week, starting with the latest on The Hard Rock San Diego. Enjoy.]

Construction has begun on the The Hard Rock San Diego and already, every inch of it promises to be the ultimate rock and roll hotel.

Inside details on the hotel and pics of construction post-click.

The hotel will have a 420 rooms-all of which will be available to own as a condos. There will also be a live concert theater, a NOBU restaurant and two Rande Gerber bars, one of which will be in a second-level pool area, complete with fire pits and access to certain hotel suites.

Located just two blocks from Petco Park--the San Diego Padres homefield (and the attraction largely responsible for revitalizing the Gaslamp Quarter)--the Hard Rock will certainly benefit the most during the baseball season, along with the business sent from the nearby San Diego Convention Center.

An insider with the development said a few thousand people have expressed interest in owning there, when the place opens in the Spring of 2007. Their tag line? "It's 24-7 decadence and you're invited." We think that might be an HotelChatter exclusive.
