We admit, we scratched our heads for a long time as we tried to figure out what exactly the Illustrious Hotel was all about. Are people able to actually stay at this hotel? Is it a hotel chat room? Do you trade hotel stories? Then we stumbled across this explanation:

The Illustrious Hotel is the pioneer in VIRTUAL hotels with suite showcases for purchase where companies can advertise and market their business. The rooms and suites available for purchase at the Illustrious Hotel range from Standard, Deluxe to the ever-coveted Penthouse suite. Which provides an innovative advertising option with varied price ranges based on your budget.

Ah ha! It's a clever marketing ploy disguised as a five-star luxury hotel. It's very similar to swag parties being held in hotel suites during awards seasons.

So while you can't stay there, you can rent "rooms" on a monthly basis. What's cool is that when you slide your mouse over the picture of the "hotel" on the site's homepage, you can glimpse into the "rooms" and what businesses are advertising there. However, because the site has just launched this week most "rooms" are still available and thus, have no swag yet in them.
