Yotel Set to Open This Summer at Heathrow

January 2, 2006 at 2:12 PM | 0 Comments

Just like their Mini Cooper cars, the Brits are embracing small hotel rooms too. The much-talked about budget hotel-chain Yotel Gatwick will open this summer at Heathrow Airport's Terminal 4, with 10-square-meter cabins.

Similar to the Japanese-style capsule rooms of easyHotel the rooms will cost about $70 a night, but are also available for four-hour time blocks.

What's inside?

Each soundproof cabin will contain a sofa that converts into a double bed, a pull down desk, closet space, adjustable mood lighting, a shower, wireless Internet, an iPod connection and a flat-screen TV.

Fifteen more Yotels are expected to be built within the next year, including one in London proper.
