Tropicana No More?
There are rumblings that the Tropicana Las Vegas will be no more after April.
According to the Las Vegas Sun, the hotel isn't taking reservations beyond April 14--a sure sign of the expected redevelopment to come.
Working with Tony Marnell's Marnell Corrao Associates is the latest sign that Tropicana owner Aztar Corp. is closer to tearing down the aging property, which sits on a prized corner of the Las Vegas Strip across from Mandalay Bay, observers say.
Despite many fond, cheap, alcohol-infused memories of the Tropicana, considering one guest's recent stay, a tear-down might be a good idea. No one likes the smell of YMCA locker room, anyways.
