Hemingway Stayed Here

Where: Bimini, Bahamas
January 16, 2006 at 9:26 AM | by GEM0330 | 0 Comments

The Compleat Angler in Bimini, Bahamas' claim to fame was that of one of Ernest Hemingway's writing hot spots. Unfortunately, a Friday the 13th fire destroyed this Bahamas hotel.

The modest wooden hotel, built in the 1930s, kept a collection of Hemingway photos and memorabilia in the lobby -- the novelist stayed in Room 1 during his summer fishing trips to the island.

Hemingway fans can still seek out some of his other hotel favorites.
Just before the Invasion of Normandy in 1944, Hemingway settled at the Dorchester Hotel in London. He later spent some time in Ritz Carlton Paris, as well as several years in Havana, Cuba at the significantly less posh Hotel Ambos Mundos.

If that isn't enough Hemingway hotel info for ya, Yahoo Travel lists several hotels near the Hemingway's Key West home and museum.
