Sky's The Limit Of Cool-ness
January 12, 2006 at 12:22 PM | 0 Comments

Hooray for press releases for spicing up our day!
This one comes courtesy of the Sky Hotel in Aspen.
The hotel is offering some amenities to make it oh-so-obvious how cool it is.
· Obvious cool amenity #1: iPod docking station. No way could Sky be cool sans Pod.
· Obvious cool amenity #2: Oxia oxygen dispenser... We realize there is altitude in Aspen, and guests would probably appreciate this nifty device's O2, but come on, for $59.95, we could just go to an oxygen bar.
· Obvious cool amenity #3: Sexy stuff. Yes, it's cool to acknowledge that people do more than read the Bible in hotel rooms. So for couples too shy to pack furry handcuffs in their carry ons, Sky will provide a complementary pair.
Recent guests found the hotel too cool or not cool enough.
The pool area turns into a frat party for rich people, blaring club music in the middle of the day. The hotel welcomes the public into the pool area, so good luck finding a place to sit amongst all the Prada bags and cowboy hats.
The room was the biggest let-down of all. It was nothing but a tiny Best Western caliber room with a bright coat of paint and animal print accessories. It looked like a cheap redecorating job from Trading Spaces.
