Tropical Getaway Deals: Palm Springs and Fake Frette Sheets

In honor of the announcement of Baby Jolie-Pitt, we present the Palm Springs locale, where many a time Brangelina shacked up last year.

From Jan. 29 to March 29, TravelZoo is offering stays at one of our all-time favorite named hotels, HotelZoso, for $129 a night with a free upgrade to a superior room. (Over the weekends, the cost goes up to $130.)

The downtown Palm Springs hotel just underwent a $20 million renovation (it used to be a Marquis.) Guestrooms feature "hipper" amenities like flat-screen TVs and custom artwork.

The pool area seems to be the place to be with its water mists when the desert heat gets to be too much and the fire pit for the cold desert nights.

But the hotel hasn't been able to work out all the kink of being back in business, according to a TripAdvisor reviewer who visited in December of '05.

Now for the OK/downside. The hotel is not ready for full operation. Our room was not serviced during our stay. The business center was not functional. There was no accommodations for the lack of a gym (being built - they wanted you to pay $10 at the hotel next door) or for the fact the front desk workers are new and cannot handle more than one concern at a time, if that. Worse of all, they advertised Frette Linens and had fakes!!

Fakes, in SoCal? That is like, so not out of the ordinary, but you know Brad and Angie used the real thing.
