Planet Hollywood Still Exists and is coming to Vegas
We thought Planet Hollywood was soo mid-90s and that when the new millennium came the chain restaurants around the world spontaneously combusted.
But apparently, we were wrong. First Planet Hollywood was spotted hotel plotting in India, and now the has been group is set to open in the old Aladdin Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
A first look at the renovations were released today, with a major overhaul of the old building set to start in October.
In the works is an "extensive face lift" for the 7,000 seat Theatre for Performing Arts, new restaurants and nightclubs, renovated hotel suites and rooms, an expanded casino floor and a new Planet Hollywood Westgate tower that will feature 1,000 multi-room timeshare, condominium and hotel units, along with retail shops.
So we have to ask...does the Aladdin need replacing?
No word yet on whether interior design will include hallways plastered with wax figures of Bruce, Arnold and Sly.
