Singer/Songwriter/Former Soul Cougher M. Doughty is blogging from Puddux, and posted a few killer photos of the Palms Motor Hotel.

While we figure the sign alone is a legitimate reason to stay at this joint--neon palm trees with a clinging monkey who looks to be flashing the sign of the devil--this place is known to be the retro-hippest of all the affordable motel bed houses that pepper Interstate Avenue.

Rooms are decorated tropics style, there is a pool for those oh so hot Portland nights (yeah right), free HBO, and the popular The Alibi Lounge is within spitting distance.
