Castle for a Cause on eBay

The Mount Washington Hotel has pitched into help the Hurricane Katrina efforts by auctioning itself off on eBay.

The winner..er..highest bidder of the "Castle for a Cause" contest gets complete use of the hotel, which has 200 rooms and can accommodate up to 500 people.

The hotel has been billed as "a National Historic Landmark, an icon recognized around the world." Indeedy it is not your average roadside inn.

The bidding has already begun and will continue to Sept. 24. The winner can use the hotel on Nov. 9.

The money will of course be donated to the Red Cross.
