Luxury Camping

Yup, it is the new new thing. Many Americans no longer want to set up a tent, build a fire, or buy a water purifier at LL Bean. However, these folks still enjoy the idea of camping. The answer? Hop in your Volvo, pack light, and head to a wilderness resort that specializes in rustic luxury.
What is rustic luxury? Golf carts whisk you from check in to your luxury suite on a platform, some complete with hardwood floors, outdoor showers, big beds--oh yeah, and there is a tent overhead.
The Clayoquot Wilderness Resort in British Columbia, which looks really slick, offers 18 safari tents with persian rugs, queen beds, and even an air horn in case of grizzly bear emergencies.
Ok, granted you have to embrace the fact the you aren't camping you are living in luxury while in the midst of natural beauty, however, if you can get past the stigma you might just end up enjoying "soccer mom camping."
