By now you know hotels in Italy make us nervous. Their service pattern is how do you say...spotty at best?

So is Ca' Pisani a sweet Venice hideaway, or typical shoddy service design hotel?

Don't know yet, but it sure does look purdy.

Here's the story

We stayed at Ca' Pisani because it's a design hotel and it didn't disappoint.

Because we were there the week before Christmas (the only time that Venice is even close to quiet), they gave us a gigantic upgrade to a corner, two-story suite. Sweet!

It's a very obviously Italian design-oriented hotel, with fantastic fixtures in the bathrooms, high-end audio/visual equipment and a glass staircase. The service was friendly, and the location was great; within walking distance of just about anything, but not too noisy or busy in the immediate area.

So, definitely worth a stay, although I can't compare to other hotels in Venice, as that's the only one I've been to there.
