A Closer Look At Palms Place

It wasn't all Mandalay hell last week in Vegas. We did manage to take a closer look at Palms Place, which is in pre-construction.
Their sales office is slick, and their brochures read like US Weekly's greatest hits--we know, we know, Eminem threw down so we should too, right?
And yes, you have to drop over $600,000 for one of the dozen or so strip facing studios that are still available, but what really intrigued us was the "Inner Circle" benefits available to cotel owners:
*24-hour concierge service
*Special invites to select events and activities
*Pre-sale ticket purchases at the new 2,200 seat concert theatre
*Access to an in-room chef
*Pre-arrival grocery shopping
*Complimentary to/from airport Chauffeured VIP car.

If these are truly included, and not add-ons, this deal isn't sounding as half-baked. Think about it. Last week in Vegas we waited fourty-five minutes in an airport cab line at midnight, waited almost as long every time we needed an elevator at the Mandalay, and developed an unsatiable thirst for water without a bottle in site.
Furthermore, this is your chance to be a mini-hotelier. You get to rent your studio out when you are not using it, all taken care of by the Palms.
Sure you are still paying way too much for a hotel room at a place that can not possibly be the place in Vegas forever, and you are committing to property in Vegas, a place that most of us just want to get in and get out of in under 36 hours, but hey, it does prove that these cotel things might actually have legs--it at least got us thinking. Either that or we are just suckers for slick sales pitches.
