Hotel Victor is one of those divisive hotels.

Some frequent SoBe travelers and boutique hotel connoisseurs and PETA supporters hate it.

Why? Well, Penguin Gate aside, mostly because deep down it is a Hyatt, which goes against the whole independent hotel theory, but the haters also claim poor service, overpriced rooms with no views, and nickle-n-diming (charging for tethered Internet will never win people over).

However, we have also heard from Hotel Victor lovers.  These folks cite the jellyfish lamps, the ocean-views from the elegant bath, and the fact that the Vic treats everyone like a VIP:

Although there were no reservations available, we ended up having dinner at the chef's table - quite a special treat! I stress that we are not VIPs - we booked the least expensive rooms through Orbitz! However, the entire staff treated us like VIPs during the duration of our stay. When we go back to SoBe, we will stay at the Hotel Victor again.

So public opinion is mixed on Hotel Victor, but one thing we can tell you for certain is the Vic will play a central role in the coming VMA festivities. Trust us, money is no object for the Vic when celeb-laden parties are at stake.
