Sunrise Over The Turquoise Mountains...

August 19, 2005 at 3:53 PM | by markj | 0 Comments

messenger birds in sight--or something like that.

The ultimate "Designer Pad!" This place has everything... but most of all, the world's best host and hostess. Beach, meals, wine, dogs and "girly guide"! The stuff of great memories, indeed.

High praise from a guest who stayed with hosts Robbie Greenslade and Michael Parking at their high concept hotel in Gisborne New Zealand.

Gisborne is the first city on earth to see the sun, and One Orange is a sunrise tribute hotel of sorts.  Laid back, yet stylish accommodations with a pool and sundecks, these rooms are more studio apartment than hotel cookie-cutter.

With expert trout fishing guides on site and a kick ass surfing beach nearby, you should have no problem finding adventure.  Oh, and if you still need something to get your blood rushing at sunrise, the property owners offer an opportunity of being enclosed in a cage and lowered into the midst of shark country for a face to face encounter.

If you look like a giant tasty sea turtle, or are bleeding profusely, you may want to avoid the shark face off thing...your choice.
