Sun Always Setting On Hotel Roosevelt?

[Hotel Maven aileendunn just returned from a stay at the newly infamous Hotel Roosevelt, where despite being a paying guest, she was denied entry to Tropicana.]
In spite of the hype, the Roosevelt is just a fancy Motel...Hell that is.
I travel to LA often and was looking forward to my stay at the Roosevelt. I had read the blurb in Vanity Fair and was anticipating an enjoyable stay. Instead what I got was rude staff, a 20 minute wait for my car, pushy waitresses, sloppy housekeeping and the topper...I wasn't hip enough to get into the bar at the hotel, even though I was a paying guest at.
First of all, everyone from the front desk person, to the valet, to the wait staff to the bouncer who told me to get lost when I tried to get into the bar was rude.
The housekeeping was horrible. My shampoo and conditioner weren't replaced, there was only decaf coffee in the room and the maids actually threw away some of my personal items. When you travel as much as I do, it really is the little things that count.
Twenty minutes is too long to wait for my car, full stop. The waitress when I didn't want any "sides" (I had to turn her down 3 times) was visibly pissed off.
Lastly to not be able to get into the bar of the hotel that I'm a paying guest in is ridiculous. When the Sky Bar was the hottest thing in town they always let hotel guests in. I was turned away at the Tropicana.
Do yourself a favor, if you travel to LA, skip the Roosevelt and stay at the Mondrian or the Motel 8, both would be better.
