Next up on our spatastic journey is the La Quinta Resort & Club in La Quinta, Calif.

Do not confuse this amazing resort near Palm Springs at the base of the Santa Rosa Mountains with the little inns/motels found alongside USA highways, also called La Quinta.

Although it's primarily a golf spot, boasting 90 holes of "some of the country's best golf", the resort has also made a name for itself because of the 23,000 square foot spa.

The spa has close to 40 treatment rooms along with an outdoor relaxation garden, and all of the it's signature treatments were inspired by the area's Native American ancestors, like the Sacred Stone Massage.

But before you get a treatment, book the 10-minute Celestial Shower where "cascading Swiss showers of varying strengths, massage and invigorate" while you stand in a private outdoor shower with the blue sky as your canopy.

Men too are welcome as evidenced by the Sportsmen's Facial which provides a "cleansing and relaxing facial for skin irritated by shaving, sun exposure and sports." Also the esthetician can discuss shaving techniques to "minimize irritation and enhance your skin's condition."

The summer rate is around $175 for a resort casita (a regular room) down from the high-season price of $415, so if you can stand the heat you might wanna think about heading over this summer. It is a dry heat, remember?
