Miracle Springs: Beautiful Resort Or In Need Of Raid?

Blogger Womantraveler recently won a two-night stay at the Miracle Springs Resort & Spa in Desert Hot Springs, California and her prize stay took place this past week.
Yes, of course, the terms of victory stated that Womantraveler would have to endure 100+ desert heat, as her prize could only be redeemed during low season.
So when she dared to venture outside the air conditioning of her room what did she think of the place?
At a closer look, I would not normally call Miracle Springs a "resort." But clearly that's a relative term (after all, there are RV "resorts"). I would qualify it as a budget family motel (110 rooms) with 7 natural hot mineral water pools -- and a high-quality spa.
What we want to know is...what about the roaches? Sure this place has pretty brochureware photos (see above right), but we recently read a Miracle Springs Resort & Spa guest story involving roaches:
There were roaches everywhere!!! In the pools, on the walls, scurrying along the floor... everywhere!! We tried to stay in as long as we could, but were overcome by the black and brown buggers.
Roaches in the bathroom! Roaches in the bathroom! We immediately decided that enough was enough, we called downstairs to get our towels filled with roach remains, and checked out. The staff was very apologetic, and checked us out without question. We checked into an Embassy Suites in Palm Desert for only $20 more a night. No roaches, no grime, and soft beds!
The funny thing is, the above story comes from another contest winning guest.
Womantraveler doesn't comment much on the actual resort yet, however, she promises a part two so stay tuned--maybe she will clear up the roach reports.
