Ritz Carlton Lake Las Vegas: You Down With OPL?

Our family recently stayed at the Ritz Carlton Lake Las Vegas and we wanted to warn you. As with other new Ritz Carlton properties, there was quite a bit of confusion right from check-in. We went to our room only to find someone elses luggage, and a welcome amenity for another guest who were their to attend a wedding that weekend. We went back to the front desk, and after many apologies, a new room was found.

The rooms are beautifully appointed and the bathrooms are huge with a separate shower and soaking tub. Missing were the bathroom amenities usually found in other Ritz's; comb, nail file, shower cap, shoe cloth. They do use the Spa Fresh toiletries which were quite nice.

We hit the pool right away. The pool is quite nice with nice chaise lounges with thick cushions, and adequate pool food & beverage service. But after we ordered lunch, the server was not aware of our "family package" plan which included breakfast & lunch for the kids. Calls to the front-desk informed us the package was not available at the pool. Back to the room for the obligatory showers before dinner.

The village has many quaint restaurants and a wonderful wine bar. We had some pizza, took in some jazz on the lawn and headed up to our room to turn in. Surprise, no turn down service! I did tell the front desk the next morning and we did receive turn-down service the second night.

My son and I played golf at the terrific Relection Bay course. The driving range was included in our package, yet the golf course starter knew nothing of a driving range. Cha-ching!

On the third day, we took the kids into Las Vegas for dinner and a show. We returned after midnight and, surprise, once again, no turn down service again.

We moved over to the Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas for our next two nights, and although it was not as polished, they are much more family friendly.

The Ritz Carlton Lake Las Vegas, in my opinion, is not a Mobil 4-star property.
